Colistin sulfate is an antibiotic polypeptide which possesses activity mainly against Gram negative bacteria, and in veterinary medicine is used orally for the treatment or prevention of enteritis in production animals.
1. Mainly for the prevention and treatment of susceptible infections and promote animal growth.
2. Has a strong inhibitory effect against gram-negative bacteria has no effect on Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and except hemolytic streptococcus outside) and fungi.
3. Is also effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections (sepsis, urinary tract infections, burns or trauma, wound infections).
4. Colistin sulfate oral is difficult to absorb, less toxic, easy to cause drug residues, easy to produce drug resistance.
